Maria is a bit of an outsider – the first child born on the moon, she’s never been to Earth and may be humankind’s best chance at a foothold on Mars.

An explosion destroys the first ship sent from the Moon to colonize Mars, killing its entire crew. Years later, Maria, now a teenager at the School of Tranquility, must guide her high school classmates as they train for the ultimate test of their skills – to lead a second attempt at colonizing the red planet.

With rumors of sabotage dogging the Mars I mission, it’s up to Maria to lead humanity forward – while dealing with all the angst of adolescence in 1/6th the gravity.
